DNB NOR Spread Betting Example
If you are going to spread trade on Norwegian shares such as DNB NOR then, on visiting a spread trading website like Paddypowertrader, at the moment you would see a spread betting price of 79.5 NOK - 79.8 NOK.
As a result, you could spread trade on DNB NOR shares to go higher than 79.8 NOK or to go lower than 79.5 NOK.
When making a spread bet, investors bet on every unit the market goes up or down. Specifically, for the DNB NOR market a unit is 1 Norwegian Krone of the share's price movement.
For instance, you might choose to trade £15 for every Krone that the DNB NOR share price increases or decreases.
Betting on the Market to Go Up

The markets can of course fall, if the market decreased to 73.6 NOK - 73.9 NOK, you may decide to close your bet to prevent further losses. If that were to happen, you would sell your spread bet at 73.6 NOK.
You would close your bet with the same £15 per Krone stake:
Profit/Loss = (closing price of the market - initial price of the market) x stake per Krone
Profit/Loss = (73.6 NOK - 79.8 NOK) x £15 per Krone stake
Profit/Loss = -6.2 NOK x £15 per Krone
Profit/Loss = -£93.00 loss
5) How do you Spread Bet on the DNB NOR Market to Go Down?
An advantage of placing a spread trade is that investors can short the markets.
The initial spread was 79.5 NOK - 79.8 NOK.
If you were to go short of DNB NOR at 79.5 NOK and the shares went down then the spread could become 73.3 NOK - 73.6 NOK. In that case, you could decide to take your profits by closing your trade at 73.6 NOK.

Profit/Loss = (79.5 NOK - 85.0 NOK) x £15 per Krone stake
Profit/Loss = -5.5 NOK x £15 per Krone
Profit/Loss = -£82.50 loss
