4) How do you Spread Bet on the DSV Market to Go Up?
DSV Spread Betting Example
Should you decide to spread trade on Danish shares like DSV then, looking at a spread betting site like Capital Spreads, at the time of writing you would see a spread betting price of 111.5 DKK - 112.2 DKK.
This means you could bet on DSV shares to increase higher than 112.2 DKK or to decrease lower than 111.5 DKK.
When making a spread bet, you bet on every unit the market increases or decreases; for the DSV market a unit is 1 Danish Krone of the share's price movement.
So, you could decide to spread bet £15 for every Krone that the DSV share price rises or falls.
Spread Betting on the Market to Go Up
If you bought DSV at 112.2 DKK and the shares increased then the spread could move to 118.9 DKK - 119.6 DKK. Assuming this was the case, you might choose to close your spread bet for a profit by selling at 118.9 DKK.

Markets can also fall, if the market had moved down to 105.7 DKK - 106.4 DKK, you may want to close your spread bet to restrict your losses. If this were the case, you would sell your spread bet at 105.7 DKK.
You would do this with the same £15 per Krone stake:
Profit or Loss = (final level of the market - initial level of the market) x stake per Krone
Profit or Loss = (105.7 DKK - 112.2 DKK) x £15 per Krone stake
Profit or Loss = -6.5 DKK x £15 per Krone
Profit or Loss = -£97.50 loss
5) How do you Spread Bet on the DSV Market to Go Down?
An advantage of placing a spread trade is that you can go short of the markets.
At the start of the example, the spread betting price was 111.5 DKK - 112.2 DKK.
If you were to go short of DSV at 111.5 DKK and the shares went down then the spread might change to 104.8 DKK - 105.5 DKK. Therefore, you might decide to close your trade at 105.5 DKK.
Profit or Loss = (initial level of the market - final level of the market) x stake per Krone

Financial markets also move up, if the market were to rise up to 116.6 DKK - 117.3 DKK, you could choose to close your trade to limit your losses. If that were to happen, you would buy at 117.3 DKK.
With the same £15 per Krone stake:
Profit or Loss = (initial level of the market - final level of the market) x stake per Krone
Profit or Loss = (111.5 DKK - 117.3 DKK) x £15 per Krone stake
Profit or Loss = -5.8 DKK x £15 per Krone
Profit or Loss = -£87.00 loss
