2) Where can I find Real-time Spread Betting Prices for Index Markets?
Please see the above tables. Where a company offers the relevant market they will also provide clients with live prices on that market.
3) Where can I find Live Charts / Candlestick Charts for Index Markets?
Spread betting companies often offer a variety of free data to their clients (accounts are subject to status, terms and conditions).
The most popular data, apart from live prices, tends to be the candlestick charts. The time period of the charts can usually be varied. You can often alter the candlestick charts to show market movements in the order of 1 minute, 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 10minutes, 1 hour, 1 day or 1 week periods.
With a number of the charts you can also update the settings to help your technical analysis. For example you can add Bollinger Bands and 20, 50 and 100 point Moving Averages.
Candlestick charts are currently available with:

4) How do you Spread Bet on Index Markets to Go Up?
FTSE 100 Trading Example
If you decide to spread bet on an index such as the FTSE 100 then, on visiting a spread betting website like Financial Spreads, at the moment you would see a spread betting price of 5240.8 - 5241.8.
This means you could spread trade on the FTSE 100 to move higher than 5241.8 or to move lower than 5240.8.
With spread trading, you bet on every unit the market rises or falls; for the FTSE 100 market a unit is 1 point of the index's price movement.
In this case, you might choose to trade £2 for every point the FTSE 100 goes up or down.
Betting on an Index to Go Up
If you were to go long of the FTSE 100 at 5241.8 and the index went up then the market might be re-priced at 5289.0 - 5290.0. Therefore, you could close your trade for a profit by selling at 5289.0.
Profit or Loss = (settlement value of the market - opening value of the market) x stake per point
Profit or Loss = (5289.0 - 5241.8) x £2 per point stake
Profit or Loss = 47 points x £2 per point
Profit or Loss = £94 profit
The markets can of course fall, if the market were to drop to, as an example, 5197.2 - 5198.2, you may want to close your bet to prevent further losses. If this were the case, you would sell back at 5197.2.
With the same £2 per point stake:
Profit or Loss = (settlement value of the market - opening value of the market) x stake per point
Profit or Loss = (5197.2 - 5241.8) x £2 per point stake
Profit or Loss = -45 points x £2 per point
Profit or Loss = -£89 loss
5) How do you Spread Bet on Index Markets to Go Down?
An advantage of spread trading is that you can sell the markets.
The initial spread betting price was 5240.8 - 5241.8.
If you were to go short of the FTSE 100 at 5240.8 and the index fell then the spread might change to 5197.3 - 5198.3. If that were to happen, you could close your spread bet at 5198.3.
Profit or Loss = (opening value of the market - settlement value of the market) x stake per point
Profit or Loss = (5240.8 - 5198.3) x £2 per point stake
Profit or Loss = 43 points x £2 per point
Profit or Loss = £85 profit
Financial markets also move up, if the market had increased to, as an example, 5279.9 - 5280.9, you could choose to close your bet to restrict your losses. If so, you would buy back at 5280.9.
Therefore, with the same £2 per point stake:
Profit or Loss = (opening value of the market - settlement value of the market) x stake per point
Profit or Loss = (5240.8 - 5280.9) x £2 per point stake
Profit or Loss = -40 points x £2 per point
Profit or Loss = -£80 loss
