3) Where can I find Live Charts / Candlestick Charts for the Nikkei Market?
Spread betting companies often offer a variety of free data to their clients (accounts are subject to status, terms and conditions).
The most popular Indices data, apart from live prices, tends to be the candlestick charts. The time period of the charts can usually be varied. You can often alter the candlestick charts to show market movements in the order of 1 minute, 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 10minutes, 1 hour, 1 day or 1 week periods.

4) How do you Spread Bet on the Nikkei Market to Go Up?
Nikkei 225 Spread Betting Example
If you are going to spread bet on an index like the Nikkei 225 then, looking at a spread trading site like Capital Spreads, you would currently find a spread betting price of 9610 - 9630.
As a result, you could spread bet on the Nikkei 225 to go above 9630 or below 9610.
If you are spread trading, you trade on every unit the market goes up or down; with the Nikkei 225 market a unit is 1 point of the index's price movement.
For example, you might decide to bet £2 for every point the Nikkei 225 rises or falls.
Buying - Spread Betting on the Nikkei 225 to Increase
If you bought the Nikkei 225 at 9630 and the index increased then the spread could become 9702 - 9722. Therefore, you might decide to close your trade for a profited 9702.
Your Profit (or Loss) = (settlement price of the market - initial price of the market) x stake per point
Your Profit (or Loss) = (9702 - 9630) x £2 per point stake
Your Profit (or Loss) = 72 points x £2 per point
Your Profit (or Loss) = £144 profit
Markets can also fall, if the market dropped to 9563 - 9583, you may decide to close your trade to restrict your losses. Assuming this was the case, you would sell the market at 9563.
With the same £2 per point stake:
Your Profit (or Loss) = (settlement price of the market - initial price of the market) x stake per point
Your Profit (or Loss) = (9563 - 9630) x £2 per point stake
Your Profit (or Loss) = -67 points x £2 per point
Your Profit (or Loss) = -£134 loss
5) How do you Spread Bet on the Nikkei Market to Go Down?
One of the advantages of spread betting is that you can short the markets.
At the start of the example, the market was 9610 - 9630.
If you were to sell the Nikkei 225 at 9610 and the index went down then the spread might become 9522 - 9542. If that were to happen, you might want to close your spread bet for a profit by buying at 9542.
Your Profit (or Loss) = (initial price of the market - settlement price of the market) x stake per point
Your Profit (or Loss) = (9610 - 9542) x £2 per point stake
Your Profit (or Loss) = 68 points x £2 per point
Your Profit (or Loss) = £136 profit
Of course, if the market had increased to, as an example, 9654 - 9674, you might want to close your bet to limit your losses. If so, you would buy back at 9674.
So, with the same £2 per point stake:
Your Profit (or Loss) = (initial price of the market - settlement price of the market) x stake per point
Your Profit (or Loss) = (9610 - 9674) x £2 per point stake
Your Profit (or Loss) = -64 points x £2 per point
Your Profit (or Loss) = -£128 loss
