» Netflix dropped 5.4%, after it announced that it would raise $400 million of additional capital. JinkoSolar Holding shed 7.9%, as its third-quarter earnings plunged by 74%.
» Alcoa, the top decliner on the DJIA index, lost 2.2%, while Caterpillar, Intel and FedEx declined between 1.2% and 1.5%, as risk aversion increased among investors.
» Bank of America eased 2.2%, amid reports that it could face public enforcement action.
» Campbell Soup retreated 5.3%, after its first-quarter sales trailed projections.
» Hewlett-Packard slid 0.8%, after the company issued a downbeat earnings outlook for the current quarter and the next fiscal year.
» DJIA edged down 0.5% to close at 11,493.7. NASDAQ slipped 0.1% to settle at 2,521.3. S&P 500 edged 0.4% lower to 1,188.0.
