Should you decide to spread bet on Swedish shares such as Swedish Match then, looking at a spread trading website like Financial Spreads, at the moment you would find a spread trading price of 176.4 SEK - 177.2 SEK.
Therefore, you could spread trade on Swedish Match shares to increase higher than 177.2 SEK or to decrease lower than 176.4 SEK.
With spread trading, investors bet on every unit the market goes up or down. With the Swedish Match market a unit is 1 Swedish Krona of the share's price movement.
For this example, you might choose to trade £10 for every Krona that the Swedish Match share price moves up or down.

Conversely, if the market had decreased to, for example, 167.5 SEK - 168.3 SEK, you may decide to close your bet to restrict your losses. In that case, you would sell at 167.5 SEK.
With the same £10 per Krona stake:
Your P&L = (closing value of the market - initial value of the market) x stake per Krona
Your P&L = (167.5 SEK - 177.2 SEK) x £10 per Krona stake
Your P&L = -9.7 SEK x £10 per Krona
Your P&L = -£97.00 loss

One advantage of spread betting is that investors can short the markets.
When we started this example, the spread betting price was 176.4 SEK - 177.2 SEK.
